Once Android 2.3,aka Gingerbread,was released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP),we knew it would only be a matter of time before actual working Gingerbread ROMs started making their way onto various Android phones. The Droid Incredible is one of those devices thanks to XDA member r2Doesinc, who has been hard at work cooking up this version of Gingerbread for the Incredible. The ROM has really come a long way,with the only two major bugs left to squash is the lack of GPS and camcorder.
I flashed the latest version of the ROM this morning,and although it is certainly usable,I did suffer a couple random freezes and had to yank my battery to restart. I would recommend waiting until this is fully stable before trying it out for day to day use,but given how quickly he’s been pushing updates,I can’t imagine this will take too long.
